Adrian J Mundin BSc CEng MIMechE MVO

Adrian Mundin was appointed Clerk to the Worshipful Company of Gunmakers 1 June 2018, and at the same time assumed the duties of Secretary to the Gunmakers’ Company Charitable Trust. Following school and then Mechanical Engineering at City University, he served in the Royal Navy as a Marine Engineer. Appointments at sea included the Senior Engineer in the aircraft carrier HMS ILLUSTRIOUS and the Marine Engineer Officer in HMS MARLBOROUGH, which saw the invasion of Iraq in 2003. Ashore, assignments ranged from gas turbine development to public relations and latterly Equerry to the late HRH The Duke of Edinburgh. Following retirement from the Service, he joined the UK Chamber of Shipping as the lead on ship safety culture and technical policy.

He is a Chartered Engineer, a volunteer for SSAFA the Armed Forces Charity, and a Liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Shipwrights. He is married to Emma and between them, they had four grown up daughters. Home is outside Horsham where they manage a large garden and a flock of Soay sheep.

The Gunmakers Company Charitable Trust is the charitable arm of the Worshipful Company of Gunmakers which was incorporated by Royal Charter in 1637 to promote and regulate gunmaking, a role it still fulfils today.
