Edward spent his early years in San Sebastian in northern Spain, and having left Cambridge University, joined the family business of ASI, known at the time principally as the importers of AYA shotguns in the UK. He became Managing Director in 2002 and has developed and expanded the business to include other brands, amongst which is Rizzini. A keen shot and conservationist, Edward is passionate about the countryside and all that is involved with it, but it is his love of gunmaking which led him to become a Trustee of the Gunmakers’ Trust. In particular, he is keen to maintain, promote and help to pass on the skills for which British gun making is famous across continents, and he sees the Gunmakers’ Trust as a crucial vehicle for achieving this.

Edward sits on the Board of the Gun Trade Association, of which he has been Chairman twice, and is President of the Gun and Allied Trades Benevolent Society.

THE WORSHIPFUL COMPANY OF GUNMAKERS

The Gunmakers Trust is the charitable arm of the Worshipful Company of Gunmakers, which was incorporated by Royal Charter in 1637 to promote and regulate gunmaking, a role it still fulfils today.
